How much a Shopify store costs in Slovakia and Czechia in 2026

Plans, payment fees, themes, apps and a domain: what a Shopify store costs each month in Slovakia and Czechia, with a worked example.

Illustration: a monthly bill with the plan, payment fees, apps and domain.

In short

The cost of a Shopify store has three layers: the monthly plan, fees on every payment, and apps. On top of that come the one-off cost of building the store and a yearly domain fee. The biggest difference between Slovakia and Czechia is payment fees, because Shopify's own payment gateway is available to companies in Czechia but not in Slovakia.

All prices come from official price lists as of 3 November 2026. App prices are in US dollars and change often, so check them before making a decision.

Shopify cost per month: the plan

Store based in Slovakia, price per month
PlanBilled yearlyBilled monthly
Basic€19€27
Grow€56€74
Advanced€289€384
Plusfrom €2,100

A store based in Czechia pays in Czech crowns: Basic costs CZK 499 billed yearly and CZK 670 billed monthly, Grow CZK 1,370 and CZK 1,830, Advanced CZK 7,130 and CZK 9,510. New stores start with a 3-day free trial, then 3 months for €1 a month.

Every plan includes hosting, unlimited bandwidth and an SSL certificate, so these are not paid for separately.

Shopify payment fees in Slovakia and Czechia

A company in Slovakia cannot use Shopify Payments. It therefore pays the payment gateway's fee plus Shopify's fee for using a third-party gateway: 2% on the Basic plan, 1% on Grow, 0.6% on Advanced. Shopify's fee does not apply to cash on delivery or bank transfers.

Payment gateways for a store based in Slovakia, EU cards
GatewayFeeMonthly
Comgate Easy0.6%€4, free with turnover above €4,000
Comgate Profi0.47% + €0.04€4, free with turnover above €4,000
GoPay0.95% after the introductory period€3.50 with turnover up to €2,000
Stripe1.5% + €0.25no monthly fee

Comgate and GoPay both have a discounted introductory period and higher rates for business cards and cards from outside Europe. Stripe is the only one of these gateways that offers Apple Pay and Google Pay on Shopify.

A company in Czechia can switch on Shopify Payments. Cards then cost from 1.9% + CZK 6.50 on the Basic plan (1.8% on Grow, 1.6% on Advanced), and the third-party gateway fee no longer applies. If the customer pays in a currency other than the store's payout currency, Shopify Payments charges 2% for the conversion.

Shopify theme cost

The Shopify Theme Store has 24 free themes made by Shopify, including Horizon and Dawn, and more than 1,300 paid ones. Paid themes mostly cost between $170 and $500, are paid once, and the licence covers one store. Updates for Theme Store themes are free. Changes made in the theme editor carry over when updating; changes to the code carry over only if they do not conflict with the new version.

Shopify app costs

Monthly app prices according to the Shopify App Store and the developers' websites:

Common apps for a store in Slovakia and Czechia
PurposeExamplePrice
Cookie consentShopify's built-in banner or PandectesPandectes free, with Google Consent Mode from $9
ReviewsJudge.mefree, extended version $15
EmailShopify Email10,000 emails a month free, then from $1 per 1,000
EmailKlaviyofree up to 250 contacts, then from $20
TranslationsTranslate & Adaptfree, 2 languages automatically
TranslationsWeglotfrom €15
Pick-up pointsPacketa, ShipD, Globe, Atlas$5 to $39
InvoicesSuperFaktúra, Fakturoid, iDokladaround $18 to $20
HeurekaHeureka XML feed$9.99

Every app also adds scripts that can slow the store down. It is therefore worth installing only the apps the store will really use.

Domain

The domain is paid to a registrar, not to Shopify. For example, at Websupport a .sk domain costs €9.90 for the first year and €17.40 to renew, excluding VAT, and a .cz domain renews for €13.90 excluding VAT. At VEDOS, a .cz domain costs CZK 160 and a .sk domain CZK 316 a year, excluding VAT. Shopify provides the SSL certificate for the domain for free.

Other costs

  • Taxes in Shopify: Shopify Tax is free up to €100,000 in sales, then 0.25% per order, capped at €0.99. For stores created on or after 13 May 2026, this is a lifetime threshold.
  • Physical shop: basic point-of-sale selling is included in every plan; the extended Shopify POS Pro costs €79 a month per location, billed yearly.
  • Selling worldwide through Shopify Managed Markets is only available to stores based in the US and to some stores in Canada and the UK, so a Slovak or Czech company cannot use it.

Monthly example: what a Shopify store really costs

A model example, not a real store: a Slovak company on the Grow plan billed yearly, with €10,000 a month paid by card through Comgate Easy.

  • Grow plan: €56.
  • Shopify's third-party gateway fee: 1% of €10,000 = €100.
  • Comgate Easy: 0.6% of €10,000 = €60; there is no monthly fee at this turnover.
  • Apps: pick-up points $9.99, invoices $17.99, Heureka feed $9.99, reviews and email on free plans. About $38 in total.
  • Domain: €17.40 a year excluding VAT, so less than €1.50 a month.

In total, around €217 a month plus $38 for apps. The biggest item is Shopify's third-party gateway fee. The same store run by a Czech company would not pay this fee with Shopify Payments, but it would pay the Shopify Payments card fees. If most customers pay by cash on delivery, Shopify's fee does not apply to those orders and the total drops.

For comparison, a Czech company: Grow plan billed yearly, CZK 250,000 a month paid by card in 300 orders through Shopify Payments.

  • Grow plan: CZK 1,370.
  • Shopify Payments: 1.8% of CZK 250,000 = CZK 4,500, plus 300 × CZK 6.50 = CZK 1,950, so CZK 6,450 in total.
  • Apps: pick-up points $9.99, invoices $19.99, Heureka feed $9.99, reviews and email on free plans. About $40 in total.
  • Domain: CZK 160 a year excluding VAT, so about CZK 13 a month.

In total, around CZK 7,830 a month plus $40 for apps. Here, card payments are the biggest item.

One-off cost of building a Shopify store

On top of running costs comes the one-off cost of building the store: theme setup or a custom design, products, payments, shipping, invoices, legal texts, tracking and translations. The price depends on the scope. At Alpinefy, a Shopify store starts from €4,000 and a move from Shoptet to Shopify from €2,900. A cost comparison with Shoptet is in the article Shoptet or Shopify.
